How do you fly the plane and take pictures at the same time?

We don't!  Safety is paramount and aerial photography is a two-person operation.  Our pilot concentrates on maneuvering the plane in a safe manner over your property and our photographer is focused on getting that "picture perfect" image.  If one person tried to do both, safety would be compromised and you wouldn't get the best possible image.

How much do your aerial images cost?

Our team will meet and discuss your particular project request. Because there are so many variables, we aren't able to publish one fixed price for aerial photography. Your site's location, the number of prints and digital images that you need, the size of your prints, the intended use of the images, the number of sites that you need captured and the complexity of the project are all considered in the quote. All of our work is guaranteed and your satisfaction is critical to our success!

What geographic area do you cover?

To date our projects have been shot in OH, IN, KY, MI, and WV. However, any locations east of the Mississippi to the eastern seaboard are well within our range and even sites to the west can be accommodated (have camera - will travel).

What type of aircraft do you use?

We have access to a wide variety of aircraft depending on the specific photo mission.  Our primary aircraft is the Cirrus Design SR20. This plane combines superior outside visibility and excellent low speed maneuvering capability with a fast cruise speed to get us on site in a hurry.  We are also able to utilize aircraft ranging from a Piper J-3 Cub to a helicopter depending on mission specific requirements.

What type of camera do you use?

Digital! We use a Nikon D200 system and a Nikon D80 backup system for high quality aerial images. Old fashioned film photography is a thing of the past.  I have not even used a film camera in over six years now, there is no need to use film in a digital world.  My aerial prints will stand up for themselves when compared to film.  Any film based image that ends up in printed media or in presentations has to be converted to a digital format.  That in itself degrades the images by a generation and adds time and money to a project.  I don't want to waste your time or your money.

What are the advantages of digital photography?

Digital images have several advantages:  Low-resolution digital images can be transmitted instantly via e-mail to anywhere in the world.  Large prints can be produced from high-resolution digital images.  Graphics and labeling can easily be added to digital images.  Digital proof images can be viewed by the client the same day as the flight. Custom cropping, color correction and haze-reduction techniques can be applied to digital images during post production work on the computer using Photoshop, the industry standard for images.  Digital Imagery is definitely the way of the future, and the future is now at TC Aerial Solutions!

Did the Wright Brothers live their whole life in Kittyhawk, North Carolina?

NO! The Wright brothers were from Dayton, Ohio and the airplane was invented there.  Wright Patterson Air Force Base & the largest Air Force Museum in the world are there, also.  The Wright Brothers did their inventing, designing & testing in Dayton, Ohio. The only thing that Kittyhawk had more of was wind & that blew through Ohio well before it made it to NC.  Ohio is the birthplace of Aviation.
